Annual Kramer Carnival set for Oct. 5
Each year, Kramer Elementary's Parent Teacher Group holds a carnival to raise funds for a number of initiatives.
The Kramer Elementary Parent Teacher Group (PTG) will host its annual fundraiser, the Fall Carnival Fundraiser, on Oct. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 400 W Sycamore St.
The event has been going on for over 30 years and serves as the PTG's largest fundraiser. It was briefly suspended during the pandemic but picked up again in 2023 with the help of carnival chair Sara Corbin. Each year, the funds are put toward field trips, classroom enhancements and other educator supports.
Carnival traditions, such as the cake and pie auction, will continue this year, according to a press release from the PTG. Professional auctioneer Christopher Owens of Coldwell Banker Real Estate will then sell the desserts.
The carnival will also feature staples like inflatables, professional face painting, Touch A Truck and more.
To put on the event each year, the PTG relies on volunteers, some of whom have helped throughout the carnival’s 30-year history. Volunteers can help set up the event, run games and food stands and contribute to it. Funding for the event also comes from business owners and community members who can help cover the cost of attractions, auction items and labor.
Anyone interested in volunteering can find more information and sign-up details on a fact sheet from the PTG.
