Butler County's Board of Commissioners reconciled projects for final allocations of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds at its Aug. 19 meeting.

Administrator Judi Boyko said the commissioners have been responsible for allocating $74.4 million in ARPA funding in the past three years. Those funds have included $17.2 million to Miami University for its manufacturing hub in Hamilton.

The funding was passed in three overall phases. Phase one is being amended to rescind approval of the crisis stabilization unit, Boyko said. She added that phase two is being amended to retract the half a million dollars from a not-for-profit organization. Wayne and Lemon Township's community allocations will also be amended since neither township submitted additional requests for how to use their ARPA funds.

After approving the allocation of those funds, $1 million in ARPA funds is left in principal for the commissioners to use by the end of the year.

The commissioners also approved the Butler County Engineer's office's request for a letter of support for a grant to create safer streets and roads for all. Boyko said the engineer would also like to do a comprehensive safety action plan for Butler County.

The Butler County Commissioners' next weekly meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 26 in the Butler County Government Services building, 315 High St.
