The Miami University RedHawks soundly defeated Central Michigan University Chippewas 46-7 Oct. 26, rising to 3-1 in Mid-American Conference play so far this season. The win was head coach Chuck Martin’s 60th with the team, officially beating Randy Walker’s previous record of 59 career wins with the team as head coach.

Walker, a 1976 Miami graduate and head coach from 1990 to 1998, held the school record for more than 20 years. Martin became head coach in 2013 and signed a contract extension this year to continue in the role through 2029.

Also during the Saturday game, Redshirt junior Dom Dzioban set a Yager Stadium record, making five field goals. The team set an overall record of six made field goals. Keyon Mozee, a senior, rushed for 120 yards, his third 100-yard game in a row. Redshirt sophomore Javon Tracy caught five passes for 118 yards. Overall, the team scored on 10 out of 11 possessions.

The RedHawks will face the Ball State football team at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. Ball State is currently 2-2 in MAC play, and Miami beat the team last year 17-15.
