The McCullough-Hyde Foundation, an organization which supports McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, awarded $62,670 in grants this fall to local organizations working to address health needs in Butler County and beyond.

Among the recipients, the Talawanda Oxford Pantry and Social Services (TOPSS) received the largest grant of $12,500. TOPSS will use the money to maintain a cold shelter program for homeless people within the Talawanda School District who need warm shelter this winter.

Thread Up Oxford received $7,500 to fund its Karma Bucks program, offering clothing vouchers to social service agencies to provide to their clients in and around Oxford. Four additional organizations received $5,000 each — Oxford SAY Soccer, Open Hands Food Pantry, Community Care in Union County and Focus On Youth, an organization which provides mental health services to children.

Other recipients include the Interfaith Center, Franklin County Community Foundation, Oxford Area Solutions for Housing, the Oxford Community Arts Center and more. All organizations which received funding operate within Butler or Preble counties in Ohio and Franklin and Union counties in Indiana.

The McCullough-Hyde Foundation has awarded nearly $500,000 since starting its community granting program in 2023. The next deadline to apply for funding is on Dec. 15, and applicants can find additional information at trihealth.com/mhmhfoundation.
