Miami field hockey dominates against OU
Miami University's field hockey team rose to a 3-1 record in MAC play after beating Ohio University on Oct. 6.
Miami University’s field hockey team got goals from five different players to beat Ohio University 5-1 in Mid American Conference action. The RedHawks hosted the Bobcats on Sunday, Oct. 6.
Miami opened up the scoring with two goals in the first quarter to take an early 2-0 lead. Ohio responded in the second period with a goal to cut the lead to 2-1. Miami first half goals were scored by Claudia Negrete Garcia and Katherine Groff.
The RedHawks shut out Ohio in the second half, while scoring three goals. Becca Lawn, Paula Peña Martinez and Reese Warren each scored. Carlie Servis had four assists during the match.
The win pushes the RedHawks MAC record to 3-1 on the season and brings them back even on the season at 6-6. The team is scheduled to host Appalachian State University on Friday, Oct. 11.
