The Oxford Free Press publishes obituaries from Weigel Funeral Home and Paul R. Young Funeral Home, in addition to obituaries submitted by families.
As a nonprofit news organization, the Oxford Free Press does not charge families to run obituaries online or in print. However, some obituaries may be subject to editing for length, particularly in our print editions. Families can make a suggested donation of $100 through our donations page or by mailing a check to P.O. Box 857, Oxford, OH 45056.
To submit an obituary for publication, please email obits@oxfreepress.com. Please provide a photo or photos along with text.
Our print editions are produced each Wednesday and published each Friday. Please note that if an obituary includes funeral information, it may be excluded in the print edition if the date has passed by the time the edition is published.
In some cases, a reporter may reach out to a family to report on a person's death. If the Free Press opts to write a reported obituary, this will run in place of a provided obituary.
