Obituary: Adele Flower
Adele Flower, a long-time resident of Oxford, and Creekside at the Villiage in Bexley, Ohio, took her last breath early in the morning of Wednesday, June 5.
She was ninety-four.
An avid bridge player, knitter, and perennial volunteer, Adele dedicated her life to family, friends, and folks less fortunate than herself. She was born on May 23, 1930, to Rhea and Alfred Savitt of Cleveland, Ohio. She met the love of her life, and soon-to-be Air Force career officer, Marvin Flower, at Purdue University.
Adele instilled her generous heart and giving spirit in her daughters, Marilyn and Faith who live in Oakland, California, and Albuquerque, New Mexico respectively. In addition to her daughters, she’s survived by a son-in-law, Thomas Hughes, granddaughters Fiona Warwick, and Lyrana Hughes, a grandson-in-law, Chris Warwick, and great-grandchildren, Moira and Callum Warwick.
A memorial was held for her at Creekside, on June 11. She was interred alongside Marvin at Dayton National Cemetery on June 13. Donations in her honor can be made to Oxford Seniors in Oxford, Ohio, Camp Boggy Creek in Florida, or the charity of your choice.
