Obituary: James M. Minium

James M. Minium, age 97, passed away on April 6, 2025, in Oxford, Ohio. He was born on Sept. 23, 1927, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to the late Donald A. and Catherine (Guenther) Minium. After graduating from Jamestown High School in New York in 1945, he proudly served his country as a Sergeant and Physical Training Instructor in the United States Army from 1946 to 1948, spending 15 months in Japan.
James was a three-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball and baseball at Jamestown High School. He played basketball for the College of Wooster, graduating with a dual major in chemistry and economics.
In 1950, James married his devoted wife and high school sweetheart, Ingrid, and together they created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and countless adventures. He dedicated over 40 years to Procter & Gamble, retiring as an Associate Director of Corporate Compliance.
James found joy in life — his winters in warm Green Valley, Arizona, his cherished September fishing trips to Boyd's Mason Lake Resort in Wisconsin and the wonderful travels he embarked on with Ingrid and, after her passing, with their son, Michael.
Later in life, James moved to the Knolls of Oxford Retirement Community. James is survived by his beloved son, Michael Minium. James was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Ingrid, as well as his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Parish, located at 4366 Bridgetown Road, Cincinnati, Ohio. Following the Mass, James will be laid to rest at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Cemetery, where he will once again be united with Ingrid, his beloved partner in life.
