Obituary: Jerry L. Hensley
Jerry L. Hensley, who was born and raised in Oxford before moving to Mixerville, Indiana, died July 23.
Jerry was born on July 12, 1961 to Mary (Null) and A.T. Hensley. He was born and raised in Oxford and the surrounding areas, before settling at the family homestead in Mixerville, Indiana. He is the beloved husband of Rhonda (united in marriage on November 6, 1985); devoted father of Kaylee Hensley, Alex (Miranda) Hensley, Katelin Hensley, Jennifer (Jason) Evans and Carol-Ann Lunsford and family; cherished grandfather of Desiree Huntsberry, Jasmine Huntsberry, Peyton Evans, Aurora Hensley and Skylar Hensley; loving brother of Larry (Joni) Hensley and dear uncle of Andrew (Mackenzie, Theo) Hensley and Travis Hensley. Beloved “Aunt Patty” (Tina Lambert).
Jerry enjoyed working on older/classic cars; as well as watching the car auctions and westerns. When he found the time, he enjoyed riding his Harley on the country roads.
He was a hard-working family man who was also kind, generous with a big heart that always led him to take care of others. Jerry spent the last 30 plus years as an owner/operator using the skills he learned from his father. Jerry was a deeply beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His passing was sudden and unexpected, and he will be severely missed.
A visitation for Jerry will be held at Paul R. Young Funeral Home in Oxford on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11 am until the time of funeral service at 1 pm. Burial at Oxford Cemetery to immediately follow.
