Kathryn Young Wiley of Oxford, passed away Feb. 8, 2025 at age 74. She was born on Feb. 3, 1951, the daughter of Roy and Ruthann (nee Charles) Young of Oxford. Kathy graduated from Talawanda High School in 1969 and was a 1973 graduate of Denison University. After spending a year in Boston, she returned to Oxford in 1974 to take a position in University Advancement at Miami University. She spent over 31 years of service at Miami, retiring in 2005, and was especially proud to receive the "Honorary Alumnus" award for her service to Miami and its Alumni Association. 

Kathy and Ronald L. Wiley, professor of physiology at Miami, were married on Aug. 15, 1981 and enjoyed 43 wonderful years together traveling, gardening, in retirement winters in Arizona, and spending time with family and friends. 

Kathy was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, serving many years as an advisor to the Miami chapter, PEO women's philanthropic organization, and Daughters of the American Revolutions (DAR). In retirement, Kathy served on the Oxford Cemetery Board and many years as an Auxiliary Board member and volunteer at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital.

Kathy is remembered with love by her stepson Matt and grandchildren Linda Lea and Tyler; brother-in-law Roger (the late Joanie) Wiley, three nieces, four nephews, and the two sons of her dearest friend Jenny (the late Bill) who passed away too soon — Jeff (Stephanie) Lancaster and Todd (Stephanie) Lancaster and their sons Kyle and Dylan. She is also survived by her aunt Mary Ellen and numerous cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, dear friends Jenny and Bill Lancaster, aunts Norma Jean and Ginny, daughter-in-law Laura Wiley, brother Roy Young, and beloved husband Ron Wiley.
