Oxford Free Press selected as participant in Report for America newsroom accelerator project
The Oxford Free Press has been selected as one of the first accelerator newsroom partners for Report for America, a national organization which has been supporting newsrooms for almost a decade.
The Oxford Free Press is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a 2025 Report for America accelerator newsroom partner.
Report for America supports local newsroom success and sustainability by recruiting and covering a portion of the salary of talented, next generation journalists. Their proven partnership model is structured to harness the skills and idealism of an emerging group of journalists plus the creative spirit of local news organizations — like ours.
In this pilot program, we will work to diversify our revenue streams by tapping into local philanthropic support. Since 2017, Report for America has supported nearly 400 newsrooms which have raised a collective $30 million from within their communities.
We are eager to welcome the coaching, training and support of Report for America next year.
