Oxford is set to host its first community Pride Prom March 29 in an event coordinated by Enjoy Oxford, Hamilton Pride, the Oxford Community Arts Center (OCAC) and other community partners.

The prom, which aims to celebrate the LGBTQ community and those who couldn’t attend prom while embracing their identities, is open to people ages 18 and up in Oxford and the surrounding areas. The theme will be “Out and Shining Hollywood Prom.” The goal of the event is to foster a sense of identity and inclusion for members of the community, according to a press release from Enjoy Oxford.

The celebration will run from 7-11 p.m. March 29 in the OCAC Ballroom. The evening will include a red carpet entrance, photo station, dance floor, live performances from P.H. Dee and Roxie D. Mocracy, and a collaborative art piece.

Other community partners include Luke’s Custom Cakes, Kofenya, OSHI, Wild Berry, McGuffey Montessori School. Uptown Threads and Kiki the Barber are collaborating with exclusive offers for ticket holders.

Tickets are available for sale online at enjoyoxford.org/pride-prom and cost $7 if purchased before March 17. After that, the cost will increase to $10 online and at the door.
