Oxford’s annual Hike-a-Thon event is set for Sept. 21, 2024.  New this year, the event will feature guided educational hikes through Oxford and Miami University trails.

Each year, Oxford and Miami co-host the Hike-a-Thon to bring the community together outdoors and celebrate progress on the Oxford Area Trail System (OATS). The event will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. this year, and attendees will get free t-shirts while supplies last. Community partners for the event include the Coalition for a Healthy Community, Three Valley Conservation Trust, Myaamia Center and more.

This year, The Hike-a-Thon will coincide with Oxtoberfest, Oxford’s take on the German autumn tradition of Oktoberfest. The city first held Oxtoberfest in 2022, and this year’s festival will run 1-8 p.m. Uptown.

Students and residents who attend both events will receive free commemorative cups, according to a Facebook post from the City of Oxford.
