The Oxford Township Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting Nov. 11. The Trustees approved financial reports for the month ending Oct. 31. Fiscal Officer Roger VanFrank advised the Trustees that he has successfully completed six hours of Village Fiscal Officer Training, presented by the Ohio Auditor of State's Office.
Road Superintendent Johnny Smith reported that all roadside mowing is complete for the season; some brush cutting will be performed through the winter months. He has 236 tons of road salt on hand and is completing his annual maintenance on snow equipment.
Police Chief Patrick Piccioni reported that department activity in the past month included 116 calls for service, 12 of which were accident-related. Officers took 10 reports, made 17 traffic stops, issued four citations and responded to 11 calls for assistance from neighboring police departments. The Trustees approved Piccioni's request to send Major Jeff King to a 5-day course for incident management training. Piccioni also presented draft revisions to several sections of the Police Department Policy and Procedures Manual.
The Trustees reviewed construction cost estimates prepared by the Butler County Engineer's Office and agreed that the 2025 paving project will be Taylor Road from Contreras to US27.
The next regular meeting of the Oxford Township Trustees will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 at Township Hall. Virtual attendance is possible.
