The Oxford Township Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting on June 10. The trustees approved April and May financial reports. Fiscal Officer Van Frank reported that the biannual audit is still underway.

Discussion items included nuisance properties on Stilwell Beckett Road, Booth Road and Hazel Drive; completion of a grant application to Metro Parks; continuing review at the County level of the Township's plan to pass American Rescue Plan Act money to TOPSS and Oxford Seniors. On the topic of Electric Aggregation, recently made available to residents of the unincorporated area of the Township, it was reported that 76 of the 356 eligible residents opted out of the aggregation program.

Trustee Salmon reported on his recent meeting with Oxford City Manager Elliott to discuss renewal of the contract for Fire and EMS service to the Township. A tentative proposal for a four-year contract at $200,000 per year was made. The proposal is subject to approval by Oxford City Council before the Trustees can accept it. The current contract for $158,000 per year expires at the end of 2024.

Road Superintendent Smith reported that paving on Bonham, North Patterson and Doty Roads is complete; painting of center and edge lines will soon be done. New signage is in place on Booth Road, where the speed limit was recently reduced. New signage and lights are active at the intersection of Stilwell Beckett Road and Oxford Reily Road (SR 732), which is now a four-way stop.

Police Chief Piccioni's report of department activity in the last month included response to 168 calls for service and 9 traffic crashes. 25 traffic stops resulted in 8 citations, 19 reports were logged and 3 arrests were made.

The next regular meeting of the Oxford Township Trustees will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8 at Township Hall. Residents can attend virtually by visiting the township website
