Bell-ringing efforts generate $11.5k for TOPSS
Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Oxford's bell-ringing campaign helps support both TOPSS and the Salvation Army.
The Kiwanis Club of Oxford’s December bell-ringing effort at Kroger generated nearly $13,000 in local donations, $11,500 of which will go toward the Talawanda Oxford Pantry and Social Services (TOPSS).
Volunteers with Kiwanis participate in a bell-ringing campaign with the Salvation Army from Black Friday to Christmas Eve each year. The organization took in $12,775 this year, 10% of which will go to the Salvation Army and the remainder of which will support TOPSS as the organization works to help people in need of housing and shelter this winter.
More than 200 volunteers helped with bell-ringing efforts this year over 17 days, volunteering a total of almost 450 hours.
